The Hydrated Workout

It makes sense to most exercisers that a well-hydrated body performs better. In addition, exercise psychologists have recently found that drinking water makes exercise more pleasurable. 

They arrived at this finding by comparing the mood of exercisers who drank water before and during exercise with the mood of exercisers who received no water. When water was part of the workout, exercisers reported that their mood rose throughout the workout and remained better than it was before working out. Their perceived exertion remained unaffected. Those who exercised without water said that they were less happy after the exercise than before it. Researchers point to reduced body temperature and/or simple thirst relief as possible reasons for the water benefits.
