Getting Back To Competitive Form

Football players may be eager to get back on the field after sustaining an injury, but there is more to rehabilitation than just regaining muscle strength and flexibility.

Physical therapists must take "proprioception" into account when rehabilitating players with ligament and/or muscle tear. This term refers to the restoration of the full use of the nerve fibers, which is needed so that the brain can get the information required to tell whether the injured player is in proper athletic form. Then, the brain can fine-tune every movement, including a balanced running stance. Thus, not only do torn ligaments and muscles require repair, but the nerve fibers torn along with them need to be repaired so that balance can be restored.

However, an athlete suffering from an on-the-field injury isn't the only one who can use some physical therapy. At our facility, we can help you whether you've taken a bad tackle in the end zone or take bad fall in the bathroom. We offer the latest in equipment and techniques, as well as a warm and inviting atmosphere. We are the first in Orange County to utilize the cutting-edge technology in photobiomodulation with THOR laser. Call us at 949-429-3220 to make an appointment or visit our facility at 27136 B. Paseo Espada, Suite 1103, San Juan Capistrano.

P.S. Bodies can be trained to improve proprioception within the muscles simply be engaging in balance exercises.
